Life at First Work

Most people experienced different types of Jobs. But, the first one is always the memorable, why? Because we always learn a lot from our first times. You’ll get to learn and acquire a lot of things that will help you improve as a human being. Also, you’ll also learn a lot of things that you can apply to your future jobs. That is your first make has always a big impact to you.

In my case I had my first right after my college graduation. I graduated as a Philosophy major but since it is not a board course I ended up being in the Marketing World and at the same in the travel industry. I remembered how happy I was when I got my first job because out of 10 applicants I was the only one that was chosen and it boosted my confidence to perform great at my first job. Well, every people who gets hired for their first job are always excited and has a lot of confidence inside to perform really well in their work. It what we can always bring in every job we apply for is the boosted self-esteem and confidence. With that you can do your work confidently without thinking about failing. So, my first is all about talking in front of a lot of professionals. Since I was just 19 years old that time, I should have been nervous. But no, I faced the people confidently because I am equipped with the knowledge that they are about to know. It’s I am the teacher and they are the students, so there no reason for me to be nervous.

And as time goes by, talking to people in different places and different cultures over and over improved my communication skills. Although I already acquired the skill when I was still in college because I am a Philosophy major, we study about reasoning and I am also inclined in student politics. I ran as a College Student Council Officer and University Student Council Officer, so I am really used to talking and communicating with a lot of people. I used it as an edge to my first job and at the same time my acquired skill was improved. One of the great things that you can acquire in having your first job is improving your acquired skill. In that way, you can always bring your more improved skill in any work you apply for, and it keeps on improving.

Lastly my first job thought to be brave enough to face the reality. My first job travels a lot, and each business consultant is delegated to travel into different places. I never traveled alone in my whole life and I was scared because I am not familiar with the places that I will go. I tried to travel alone before ,but there is someone who will pick me up at the point of destination. But this is a different case, I have to travel all by myself. And I overcame my fear, and managed to travel alone into different places. Now that I have learned not to be afraid by traveling alone, I am now ready to face the reality bravely. And in every job that you apply you can bring that bravery to face the tasks even if it seems hard you will be able to finish and do it properly.

Now with all this things that I acquired from my first job, it will fuel me up in doing my tasks here in my new work. I will use my self-confidence in facing my tasks and my clients. Even if it looks hard to accomplish I know I can still do it. My improved communication skills so that I can properly reach out to my team mates and clients. And lastly my bravery in facing hard tasks. I may have left my first job, but it gave something that can help me improve as a person .
