If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. -Proverb
I started as an ordinary Virtual Assistant and I’m also part of a team following instructions and just focusing on my work. But I am fully aware that at some point, we need to grow and need to experience things that will challenge us and mold us to become a person that we want to be and face the expectations of the future.

Leading a team is new for me. Big challenges meaning big responsibilities awaits. –Ten Velasco
New challenges needs boundless hard work and turning challenges into motivation. Becoming a leader is not that easy; there are some tough challenges.
Communication is number one for me, it is very important because once the team is running it is essential to keep the communication going to build relationships, evaluate progress and identify matters and questions. Make expectations and responsibilities clear so that everyone knows who’s doing what, why and when.
Second, leading by example. Thinking about the behaviors I want and expect from my team members and be sure to show those traits myself. I’m the role model so what I’m going to say or do will make an impact on my team’s daily work routine and attitude. It is important for me to always be myself and to believe in myself. I think it’s hard to fake it, it may lose my credibility especially trust in the end and treat everyone on the team fairly.
Third, trusting my team to do their job where there’s an issue I will encourage and empower my team to find the best solution themselves; of course with my support.
Lastly, to become a leader or how to lead a team I must help them to inspire their dedication for us to fulfill our goals and objectives.
Being a team leader is often challenging but frequently rewarding. How to lead a team? Well.. simple.. just be true to yourself, to the work you do and to the team.
