It’s Called Professional Courtesy

Are you truly an entrepreneur? This question keeps repeating in my mind every time I don’t hear back for a week or more from someone who claims to be a business person despite the follow-ups.



Before I continue, this is based on true stories. This always happens with my Accounts friends and team mates. Most of the time they’d send several notifications and follow-ups. Once or twice, the person would get back at them. Then, BOOM! They ignore their emails. Final warnings are sent a couple of times and still, yes, it happens, NO REPLY from the other end. So, then they close the account and archive everything.


Client then rushes back hitting how unprofessional the team was. Really?


So, this is where my blood rushes up to my mind to start a revolution! That is called RESPONSIVENESS! Here are the reasons:


1. There is a HUMAN BEING at the other end writing you that email. That human being is probably just doing their job. Worst, they might have a deadline!

2. FINAL means it’s the end. So if after receiving numerous email and the subject line has this word, it’s already an ALARM for you to communicate.

3. Unresponsiveness defines your character. Rude and unprofessional.


I say everyone is busy in their day-to-day job. But that is not an excuse to be disrespectful. No matter what business you have, EMAIL and CALLS are part of the daily routine. They are necessities to your success.
