How To Be Successful With Your Virtual Assistant

It’s been 9 years and counting since I started my career as a Virtual Assistant that equates to thousands of hours with numerous clients from around the world. All these years I’ve had experiences with clients who are first timers in hiring VAs and are really very demanding which is reasonable but also there were those who seems to just want to mess around. So how do you ensure success with your VA?

COMMUNICATE PROPERLY. This the most important since everything is virtual. Right after contract signing, you must set the day and time of your meetings and the mode of communication that works best for you.

DEVELOP OPEN RELATIONSHIP. Keep in mind that you hired a VA to do some of your tasks that you no longer have time for therefore you look for one who can do it just as well as you can, and sometimes, maybe even better. Most VAs do not just work for one client, thus they are able to accumulate experience from working with other clients. See how much you can benefit from this for when the VA is comfortable with you, it just comes naturally to suggest new, more efficient, methods for doing things.

AUDIT WORK. Take time to monitor the work being done and always give feedback.

It is very important for you to know that your VA works to the best of their ability to deliver everything you need on time despite the other clients they have. However you can also hire a dedicated VA to work exclusively for you.

Despite the hard work your VA puts in on your project, issues may still arise especially if you don’t feel like you are not getting the most of your paid time. You should tell your VA right away and must not ever leave it an open issue. If they reach out, do not ignore them. Talk to them. You won’t be able to settle anything without talking.

Your VA aims to empower you and therefore you’re expected to invest the time and effort in providing what ever they need from you. VAs are all worth it if you do your part.
